“Reimagining School Climate for a Digital Era” — National School Climate Center (NSCC)

When the National School Climate Center (NSCC) reached out, they were standing at a pivotal moment. For years, their School Climate Leadership Certification (SCLC) had been a respected, in-person experience that brought educators and leaders together to transform their schools. But the world had changed, and so had the ways people gathered and learned. They knew it was time to bring their program online — not just for accessibility, but to reach the districts and leaders who needed it most.

The challenge was more than logistics. How do you take something that thrives on connection and translate it into a digital format without losing its heartbeat? NSCC wanted participants to feel the same sense of belonging, courage, and collaboration they had always fostered in person. They needed more than an online launch. They needed a narrative that carried the spirit of the work into new spaces.

That’s where we stepped in. We built a storytelling-driven communications strategy that put educator voices at the center. Instead of leading with features, we led with stories about the urgency of school climate and the transformative power of inclusive leadership. We designed campaigns that spoke to hearts as well as minds, positioning SCLC as a movement rather than a product.

The results spoke for themselves. Leaders from districts across the country enrolled in the program, not just curious but committed. NSCC was able to expand its reach, engage new communities, and step into a national role as the voice on climate and equity. And most importantly, educators walked away not only with new skills, but with the belief that they were part of something bigger — a collective movement to build schools where every student belongs.

Impact:

  • Expanded enrollment by 40% in the first online cohort

  • Reached leaders from 12 new states that had never before engaged with NSCC

  • Increased social media engagement by 3x with storytelling-driven campaigns

  • Positioned NSCC in national media as a leader on climate and equity
